Canelo Alvarez Unifies Super Middleweight Titles in Saudi Arabia

Canelo Outpoints Scull to Become Undisputed Once Again

By IDNN Sports Desk

Saúl “Canelo” Alvarez added another chapter to his storied legacy on Saturday night in Riyadh, defeating William Scull by unanimous decision to unify the super middleweight titles in a dominant 12-round display.

The bout was the headline act of a packed card at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, part of the country’s growing reputation as a global boxing hub.

Alvarez controlled the tempo throughout, working behind a stiff jab and mixing punishing body shots with sharp uppercuts that kept the previously unbeaten Scull on the back foot.

“It was a smart fight. I wanted to prove I’m still the king at 168,” said Canelo, who now holds the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO belts again.

🧠 Tactical Masterclass, Eyes on Crawford

Judges scored the bout 117–111, 118–110, and 119–109—all in favor of Canelo. The win sets up a potential superfight against Terence Crawford, who was in attendance ringside and has publicly called for a bout at a 165-pound catchweight.

“Crawford is next if he wants it,” Canelo said. “Let’s give the fans the biggest fight in boxing.”

🌍 Saudi Arabia’s Boxing Boom

The event further cements Saudi Arabia’s status as the new epicenter for big-money boxing, with promoters praising the atmosphere and purse guarantees. With Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and now Canelo headlining Riyadh events, the Kingdom has become boxing’s top stage.
